Submitting a Purchase Made in a Foreign Currency

Short answer:

Yes! If you made a purchase in a foreign currency, you can still submit it for reimbursement. Just convert the amount to your benefit program's currency using the current exchange rate, then enter the converted amount when submitting in JOON.

How to submit a foreign currency purchase:

  1. Find the exchange rate between your country's currency and your the foreign currency at the time of purchase.
  2. Multiply your purchase amount by the exchange rate to get the converted amount.
  3. In JOON, manually enter the converted amount when submitting your reimbursement.
  4. Upload your original receipt — even if it's in a foreign currency, that's totally fine.

Example: If you spent £50 GBP and your benefit is in USD with an exchange rate of 1 GBP = 1.27 USD, you'd enter $63.50 as your reimbursement amount.
