How long reimbursements typically take
Short answer
Reimbursements are paid after the month closes and are typically deposited mid-to-late in the following month. For example, January reimbursements typically arrive by between February 15-28
Exact timing depends on employer review time and bank processing.
Below is a breakdown of the full timeline.
How reimbursement timing works
-
Purchase Submission
- Purchase is submitted successfully
- Purchase status becomes Pending in your JOON account
-
Purchase Review
- Purchase is reviewed for eligibility in your benefit program
- This typically takes a few business days

-
Employer Reimbursement Review
- At the end of the month, all reimbursements are gathered and sent to your employer for a final review
- Reimbursement status changes to Reimbursement Pending
-

-
- Reimbursement status changes to Reimbursement Issued

- All reimbursements from the same month are issued at the same time
- Weekends and bank holidays can extend timelines
- Employer review can extend timelines
Common questions
Do weekends or holidays count as business days?
No. Banks only process payments on business days.
Why did my coworker get reimbursed before me?
Reimbursements are all issued at the same time but arrival timing can vary based on your banking institution.
Does updating my bank account affect timing?
If your bank information was updated recently, it may take additional time for payments to process.
