How to Update Your Direct Deposit Debit Card If You No Longer Have Access to Your Old Card

Short answer If you need to update your debit card on file and no longer have access to your old card number - due to it being lost, stolen, or expired - you'll need to contact Stripe Support directly to verify your identity before making the update. JOON is not able to assist with this on our end.

Why you need to contact Stripe

JOON processes reimbursements through Stripe, which maintains strict security protocols around payment information. For your protection, any updates to a card on file that require identity verification must be handled directly by Stripe Support— this is something JOON cannot override or assist with.

How to update your card through Stripe

  1. Visit Stripe Support and submit a request
  2. Ask to speak with an agent who can assist with verifying your identity
  3. Once your identity is verified, Stripe will help you update your debit card on file
  4. After your card is updated, your reimbursements will be sent to your new card going forward

Good to know

  • This process is required any time you need to update your card but no longer have access to the old card number
  • If you still have access to your old card number, you will be able to update your direct deposit information directly in your JOON dashboard
  • If you have any questions or need help after updating through Stripe, submit a support ticket and we'll follow up with you
