What Does "Manual" Mean on a Benefit Category?
Short answer: If a benefit category is labeled "Manual," purchases in that category won't be automatically marked as eligible from a connected purchase card — you'll need to request a review of eligibility on a connected card purchase yourself.
What does "Manual" mean?
When viewing your benefit in JOON, you may notice certain categories are labeled with "Manual" or "Manually Request". This is an intentional setting that means connected card purchases within that category won't be automatically marked as eligible - you'll need to request a review for eligiblity of them yourself.
This is different from other categories where connected card purchases are automatically marked as eligible for reimbursement.
What do I need to do for a Manual category?
Depending on your situation, you have two options:
- Request eligibility on a connected card purchase [Recommended] — If the purchase already appears in JOON from your connected card, you can manually request a review of eligibility for it.
- Manually add the purchase — Enter the purchase details yourself in JOON rather than waiting for it to be pulled in from a connected card.
