My Purchase Card Transaction Isn't Being Marked as Eligible Automatically

Short answer: If a merchant isn't being automatically marked as eligible, you can submit a support ticket to request it be added — just note that broad, big-box retailers like Target or Walmart can't be added due to the wide variety of products they sell.

Why isn't my purchase being automatically marked as eligible?

When you use your JOON purchase card, eligible merchants are automatically marked based on the categories in your benefit program. If a merchant isn't being recognized, it may be because they haven't been added yet for your category — or because your category is labeled "Manual," which means purchases in that category won't be automatically marked as eligible regardless of the merchant. You can learn more about "Manual" categories here.

How to request a merchant be added

If you have a purchase you'd like to be automatically marked as eligible going forward, submit a support ticket with the following:

  • The merchant name, exactly as shown in your JOON Dashboard in "All Purchases"
  • The category you believe it falls under and any relevant details

We'll review it and get back to you!

A note on big-box retailers

We're unable to add broad retailers like Target, Walmart, Amazon, or similar stores where a wide range of products - both eligible and ineligible - are sold. Since purchases from these merchants can't be reliably categorized, they aren't able to be automatically marked as eligible.

For purchases from these stores, you'll want to request a review for eligibility of the connected card purchase and include an itemized receipt.
